Frequently Asked Questions

APPOINTMENTS: 020 7299 0385
Q: How much do you charge for each appointment and how long do they last?

A: I charge £195 for each CBT/hypnotherapy appointment and it lasts 50 minutes. I charge £100 for a half hour GP consultation, £50 for a 15 minute GP consultation. Appointments in Harley Street cost £225 for 60 minutes.

Q: Regarding hypnotherapy with CBT – on how many occasions are you likely to need to see me?

A: I generally  see patients 3 or 4 times, sometimes with homework and recordings to listen to between appointments. I may subsequently organize a follow up appointment a few weeks later which may or may not be needed.

Q: I don’t like the idea of hypnotherapy, please can I see you for just CBT?

A: Yes, no problem. I do a six session structured CBT programme using my own material which can be used between sessions to add value to the process.

Q: Do you see children as well as adults?

A: I particularly enjoy seeing children, and find them extremely receptive. They usually have a very vivid imagination which works very well with the visualisation used in the relaxation techniques with the hypnotherapy. I will often see them in my own home, a non clinical environment which can feel less threatening. The most common problems I see in children are anxiety-related disorders, sleep disorders, phobias, eating issues, and exam nerves.

Q: Are you able to prescribe medication?

A: As a medical doctor I am able to prescribe but would only do this with a good understanding of the patient’s general health and knowledge of other medication. I may advise discussion with your own GP first but would only do this with your consent.

Q: Where do you see patients?

A: I  see patients at The Healthy Balance Clinic, Great Missenden, Bucks and at 10, Harley Street, London W1. I also consult occasionally from my home in Amersham, Bucks. Location is dependent on patient desirability, availability and best therapeutic setting.

Q: Can I see you as a private GP?

A: Yes. I am not a substitute for your own NHS GP but am happy to offer additional consultations, be available for second opinions, and for appointments that might better suit your diary. I offer some early morning and some late evening appointments.

Q: Will I be covered on my Private Health Insurance for treatment with you?

A: This varies depending on your type of cover and  your Insurance Company. Contact your Health Insurance Company in the first instance for further information.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A: Any appointment that is not cancelled before the preceding 24 hours will be charged at the full rate.
